As we have seen in the past months, the conservative movement has realized its self-fulfilling prophecy. For years conservative politicians have spoken of the failures of government and how it cannot work for the American people, and today we are faced with ample proof that their government has failed. Be it the recovery of the Gulf Coast region after Hurricane Katrina, the Sago Mine disaster in West Virginia, or the state of our domestic social programs such as health care and education, it is clear that maintaining power now defines their style of government. We are proud to release our ideas about the real role of government, including initiatives that provide for quality, affordable health care for all, a vast improvement in our education system, and achieving energy independence.
